Observations:

  • if you find yourself using the word “should” - rethink what you really are doing and do you even want it?
  • everything in this world works on FOMO. fundraising, hiring, getting a role at an early stage startup etc. if you can successfully convince the person on the other end that “hey without me you’re fucked and passing on me right now is gonna be your biggest regret in life” - if you can successfully do this you can get convince anyone and get whatever you want
  • “fear is the disease, hustle is the antidote” - TK
  • everytime you go through shit or feel like shit and have no idea what to do - pick someone you really really admire and look up to in that space aka whatever ur doing and just ask urself what would this xyz person do in this scenario and just do that fucking thing. for example let’s say you look up to Travis Kalanick for running a company. now everytime when your company reaches an existential crisis(trust me this will happen a lot) or maybe you have to layoff a bunch of people or you fucked up real bad and have no idea on how to go about this. in that very moment just simply ask yourself this “what would Travis do in this scenario” and then just go do that fucking thing. it’s really that simple
  • a good metric to check if something is doable or not is asking urself: can hustling hard enough solve this xyz issue i’m facing. for most things the answer is gonna be yes. you were just finding excuses.
  • “when in doubt it’s always a no” doesn’t always favour you
  • have extremely strong opinions - it shows you stand by your word and have high integrity
  • your data aka your exposure in life is your only moat
  • adapt identities to pick up stuff quickly and get good at it. once you’re pretty good at it don’t hold by that identity - let it go cause it has already become a part of you and holding on to it will restrict you from picking up new ones since you can only pick a few at a time
  • you happiness in life is inversely proportional to how much you care about things. there’s a reason why a 3 year old or a 80 year old is much happier on average than any normal person because they don’t give two fucks about most of the things in the world. you can do the same and take in whatever context is relevant to you and say fuck you to the rest - it’s that easy. you just have to set boundaries about what you give a shit about and what you don’t. pick wisely about what you give a shit about(if you actually think deeply - there won’t be a lot of things here). rest of things which are not part of this list - you can simply say fuck you to them.
